These rings are precision bored to the maximum and minimum sizes that are required for cutting certain thread sizes. When sizing for threads, you can slip them over your barrel to determine when the proper size has been reached to proceed with cutting.

Each ring is marked with it's appropriate thread size.

The set includes 3 rings of the following size limits:


  • GO   ---- at the top major diameter size for the thread (once this one slips on, your barrel can be properly threaded)

  • NOGO  --- at the bottom tolerance for major diameter (if this one goes on, you've gone too far down in size)

  • +0.01   ---- above the proper size by .010" (this lets you know when your close to size and also sets a limit on the possibility of threading without damaging the die)



Together, they gives you a sure-fire and inexpensive alternative to buying calipers for measurement.
