I read all of the reviews and still bought this hoping it would fit right out of the package. It didn't - the tabs do go into the trigger - however the plate under the receiver was a bit crooked from the factory. To fix- I machined off the small tabs- installed the sling plate under the receiver- then for added grip- put a few dots of super glue between the sling plate bottom and the top of the grip (not on the weapon.) Rock solid

This piece doesn’t fit. The small tabs that are supposed to lay directly behind the trigger guard, rest directly on a rivet head. If I completely remove those tabs, the only thing keeping the sling loop plate in place, is pressure from the screw that holds the grip. Furthermore, if it laid flush with the receiver, the stock pistol grip won’t recess on its mounting point like it was designed to. If you get one of these and mod it to fit, plan on replacing your grip as well.

Easiest part I've ever installed on a gun. Fits like it was from the factory. I would highly recommended this piece to anyone wanting to put a sling or thier M85.
